New releases & inner musings

January 31st livestream

On the evening of the 31st, I sat down while writing and popped a livestream on. Many readers and listeners jumped in, and if you’d like to hear all of what I talked about, I just loaded it to YouTube.

Shout-out to Nahuel for downloading it, and setting it to sexy music.

New eBook bundle has arrived and COVID sucks

COVID talk first: the family had it in rotation going back about three weeks now, and boy are we done with that crap. None of us had a serious case, but with the entire house in the dumpster with flu-like crap, things have been a real challenge.

Luckily our symptoms were mild, all things considered, but the need to quarantine, and keep the kids home from school, and then not going out to do anything for several weeks is pretty disruptive. Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for delivery services.

And, as the headline gives away, I released an eBook bundle today over on Amazon. It’s the first seven releases in the Tales from the World of Adrian’s Undead Diary. Unhappy Endings, London Burns, Only the Light We Make, The Shed, An Ill Wind, The Other Side, and Dead Lucky are in it.

That’s four full novellas, plus thirty short stories (many written by the zompoc genre’s great voices), and all of it is canon.

So if you were holding out on reading these on your Kindle, or via the Kindle app, now’s your chance to snag it for 20% of the price of the regular releases. ($5.99, only on the Kindle, no audio coming, so don’t ask)

Click here, on the picture below.

Thanks to everyone as always for all the love and support. Keeps the sails full of wind, and reminds that the words I create are actually read and listened to by other people who are arguably just as weird as I am.

Join me live tomorrow on Facebook!

Hey squad!

I know it’s been so long since I had a live interview, but rest assured: I’ve got one tomorrow at 2pm eastern.

The folks over at Written Undead are having me on their videocast, and like last time, it’s guaranteed to be a good time. Hosts Jack Childress, Richard Ryan Rose, and Jennifer Amato are all super fun to bullshit with, so I’m excited for a few fun hours of live inappropriateness.

Check out the live stream tomorrow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/events/s/written-undead-podcast-the-ret/883732019610613/

Autograph Stickers!

Lookie here, y’all.

I stole this idea from friend and fellow author Mark Tufo.

I ain’t ashamed. I asked his wife first.

Anyway, I get LOTS of requests for international signed books, but the price of shipping is INSANE. $20 or more for shipping for a single book, and that’s too much.

ENTER THE AUTOGRAPH STICKER.

These sumbitches can go anywhere in the world, in an envelope, for about $2.

So, if you want some, and you can cover the exorbitant fee of $4, I’ll send you up to 6 in a single envelope. If you want more than 6, we need a 2nd envelope, and that’ll be another $4.

All you gotta do is message me on social media, or using the contact system here, and let me know how many books, and to whom or how you want them signed.

I can take Venmo or Paypal easily.

I’m so excited to get these out!

Gaming, and how it affected my life.

I sat down with Nico Pengin last night for an interview on his YouTube channel. We did a deep dive–talking about how games and gaming has affected my personal life, as well as my professional life.

Turned into a really fun interview that opens up your mind about what the hobby can do for people.

Check it out:

Podcast interview – good stuff.

A few weeks ago I sat down with the crew over at HP Lovecast; a Lovecraft inspired podcast that delves deep into horror and the writers who create it.

They asked some fantastic questions I’ve never gotten before, and it’s one of the most interesting interviews I’ve done. Plus, I read from The Awakening, and that’s fun.

The show opens with author Erika T. Wurth, and she talks about her novel White Horse.

Check it out here, or on your favorite place to stream podcasts.

Fresh Adrian has started delivery!

Formats for Ghosts are releasing early.

No matter how hard I try to get it all done on the same day… some of the book formats like to sneak out, like a greyhound on crack that caught the scent of a squirrel in the backyard.

Reap the benefits of Audible and Amazon processing the new release far faster than promised! You can download the audiobook version right now, or order the paperback. The Kindle version (which is almost always first, but not this time) releases on October 31st.

Enjoy, however you choose to.

A weary Adrian Ring continues his dangerous push to find the missing members of the mythical second Trinity—saviors of mankind from the judgment of the undead. He’s fought those monsters for years now, facing off against unthinkable threats and challenges to his own safety, and sanity, and thus far, he’s prevailed. Others around him haven’t been so lucky, but that seems to be his curse.

Now, as he and his precious friends foray north into the heart of England to find Hal Parker’s dad, and search for survivors, they will encounter threats they’ve never dealt with before.

And worse yet, while they battle against faster, and smarter armies of the dead, and the wraiths of evil that now walk amongst them, a greater threat slips through the cracks, and joins them.

There will be death. There will be destruction. The darkness will shun out hope as it nears a final victory.
And yet Adrian will meet a new light, Erin Locke—a beacon in that darkness—and his encounter with her will change him for the better, and alter the course of humanity’s grim fate.

With major contributions from Carl Meadows, author of Lockey vs, The Apocalypse, an Adrian’s Undead Diary series.

Ghosts contains Adrian’s personal journal entries from November 28th, 2014 to January 1st, 2015. Intermixed with those diary entries are the short stories: A Mother’s Love, Be Someone Special, Bring Me That Horizon, Sabotage, The Paladin, and Now You See Me.

Tonight!

Hollis Social Library in scenic Hollis New Hampshire.

There will be books.

There will be stickers.

There will be bookmarks.

There will be shirts.

There will be dice.

And to balance that awesomeness out, I’m going to read from The Twelve, LIVE.

So register on the Hollis Library website, and come say hi tonight at 6pm.

Live and in person… (kinda)

Three tidbits for your eyeballs:

This Saturday I had Carl Meadows on my author page for two solid hours talking about Ghosts, Lockey, the AUD universe and much more. You missed it live, but you can watch the recording here.

Want to see me live? The Tewksbury Massachusetts writer’s group is hosting me for an online (Zoom) writer’s class tonight (17th) at 7pm. We’re gonna talk about the business and creative aspects of writing, and you’re welcome to join. Watch, ask questions, whatever you like. Register here to get the link to be a part of this.

And lastly, I’ll be appearing in the wild this Thursday the 20th at 6pm here in Hollis New Hampshire. The Hollis Social Library is hosting me for a reading and meet & greet, and you are welcome to join. I’m gonna have books available, I’ll be signing, and I’ll even bring a nice stash of my homemade gaming dice for people to check out.

They do ask that you register on their website so they can have a seat and refreshments ready for you.

So yeah! I hope you can enjoy one or all of these appearances, and I look forward to hanging out!

A once a decade sale is happening right now.

Woke up on Monday with an email telling me that Audible was going to feature The Awakening on Wednesday as the Daily Deal.

This is literally the most powerful marketing package Audible can do for a book, and I landed it for today.

To say I’m excited, and thrilled, and thankful, and HOLY CRAP.

Anyway, Book One of The Darkness of Diggory Finch is just $2.95 today, and today only on Audible. Grab it, nab it, tell a friend, whatever pleases you.

Need something to do? I got you.

Lots of opportunities to interact the next couple weeks, give or take. I’ll plop some info and links here so you can track me down to ask any questions you’d like, or just listen in for funsies.

October 15th! This coming Saturday at 4pm eastern standard (9pm in the UK) Carl Meadows and I are sitting down on Facebook to talk all things AUD 13, and Ghosts. Tune in on my author page to hear how Lockey became a whole series, and how she’s meeting up with Adrian in the next book.

October 17th! I’m the guest of the Tewksbury writing group, and they’re hosting a zoom Q&A at 7pm. Jump in to learn more about the business of being a writer, of being a creator, and you can always ask me questions about my stories. You do need to register to get the link to join, and you can do that at this link.

October 20th! Live and in person right here in Hollis, I’ll be the guest of the Hollis Social Library at 4pm. I’m gonna do a reading, and then open the floor up to any questions you got. I’m bringing some cool artifacts from behind the scenes, will probably have some dice on a table to check out, and they’re offering refreshments. Seating is limited, and you have register (for free) on their website.

So if you’re looking for something other than binging a show online, or reading or listening to some other fantastic author’s books, please feel free to jump into one of those events!

-Chris

October 20th Meet & Greet in NH

Skeet skeet, let’s meet!

The Meet & Greet/reading here in Hollis NH has been confirmed for October 20th at 6pm.We’re gonna read some stuff, chat up a bit, drink some refreshments, and enjoy some camaraderie.

Please note that the library needs a head count to plan seating and refreshments, and they’ve capped the attendance to 35. You MUST register on their website so they save you a seat. Head to the link below and in the lower left hand side you’ll see a “Begin Registration,” button.

It’s easy.

If you were looking to hangout in New England, in the fall, this is a great time. Foliage will be at peak (just about), and Hollis has a historic downtown. We’re 25 minutes from Manchester, 10 from Nashua, an hour from Boston, and 4 hours from NYC. I am also investigating a spill-over place we can shuffle off to after the library closes, but I need to know if there’s interest in that.

So please register, and let me know if you’re gonna make it. I’m super excited to share some in-person time with friends and fans.

The Twelve has arrived

…and now I can stop talking about it.

No but really, here it is, in all its glory. Click the picture to be zoomed away to the ‘Zon, where you can consume it now.

If it wasn’t for Diggory Finch, the towns of Twin Falls would’ve been eaten alive by a incursion of monsters from the unthinkable beyond. Not that he’s a hero, per se. It’s more than he strung enough mistakes together in a row that something good happened, and wiped them off the face of the planet using the torrent of evil power that channels through him.

Heavy stuff.

But now, in the peaceful wake of a near-apocalypse, he finds himself falling in love with Alisha, starting up a gaming store in the family warehouse, and dealing with the Machiavellian eldirtch manipulations of the twelve founding families of Twin Falls: all of whom want something from him, and the power his family somehow controls.

And if that wasn’t enough, Diggory and the cults of his hometown have no idea that when he sent those abominations away, he totally tore a hole in the barrier that keeps the really bad things out, and one of them slipped into town.

And that thing really, really wants to give Diggory a kiss.

Welcome to The Twelve: book two of The Darkness of Diggory Finch, a Lovecraftian eldritch horror series set in New England, filled with inappropriate humor, more gore than your average story, and more than a few moments that will leave you uncomfortable.

Audiobook narrated by Joe Hempel.

The Twelve Kickstarter is fulfilled!

If you were a backer, then you should be seeing a package within a week or so. Priority packages could start arriving as soon as today (though tomorrow is likely) but Media Mail packages will be starting to arrive mid week next week.

Pictures of the boxes:

Either way, your stuff is on the way, and you should have it before the wide release day on August 30th.

If you would like to order a pre-release copy, I have a small amount left. I also have some copies of The Awakening as well. If you want one or both, message me directly on Facebook or Instagram. They’re about $20 delivered in the US.

You can also pre-order through Amazon and Audible.

Exciting times.

Just five days left to capitalize on the Kickstarter.

Just 5 days.

That’s all that’s left before The Twelve goes dark until it’s wide release in all formats on August 30th.

If you want to secure your signed copy, or name something that appears in Twin Falls, or get custom, handmade dice made by me, or other neat items, please jump over to Kickstarter now, and toss in a pledge.

And, if Kickstarter isn’t your thing, but you still want to pre-order prior to release, you can pre-order the Kindle version right now, and the Audible pre-order goes live on June 29th.

And, if you follow me on social media, you might already know that this came out on Audible a couple days ago:

Narrated by the wonderful and fun DJ Leone, it’s a sampler title, with excerpts from many of my novels, plus multiple short stories for new readers and listeners to get a feel for my writing style. Give it a nab if you feel so inclined, and if you would be willing to leave an honest review, I’ve got a few Audible download codes I can gift. Just contact me on social media.

This is already top 20 in anthologies, and I am astounded so many have given it a try so soon. I’m very thankful.

All the best, and I hope everyone is staying cool.
